Dr.
Daniela Requena Suarez

Funktion und Aufgaben:
I enjoy exploring and combining different methodologies to answer questions related to the monitoring, ecology and conservation of forests in the tropics. I currently lead research collaborations related to the improvement of NGHGI-related estimations of aboveground biomass stocks and sinks in forests, with the ultimate goal of generating methods and products that are policy-relevant and adaptable for different purposes. I'm interested in the integration of National Forest Inventories (NFIs) and remote sensing data and products, particularly to improve our understanding of forest disturbance and recovery processes, as well as the spatial distribution of forest carbon stocks.
Together with Martin Herold we coordinate the GFOI R&D Component, which aims to transfer emerging forest monitoring methods and data sources into established national forest monitoring systems in the context of the Global Forest Observations Initiative.
