The GFZ supports the work of the International Heat Flow Commission (IHFC) of the IASPEI by providing thematic maintenance and technical support for the global heat flow database.

CO2zero is a business-led network of around 20 companies and scientific institutions. Its objective is the transformation towards CO2-neutral buildings and infrastructures. The members develop solutions for the property industry and utilities with a focus on Berlin and Brandenburg. The GFZ heads the ‘Geothermal Energy’ field of competence.

Women IN  Geothermal (WING) is a global volunteer, not-for-profit organization whose aim is to promote the education, professional development, and advancement of women in the geothermal community worldwide. The WING Germany country team is coordinated by GFZ, Section Geoenergy.
