GeoDataNode | A roadmap for research data management in the geosciences: Responding to the needs of the community
The GeoDataNode project aims to sustainably optimize data management at the GFZ. Over a period of two years, the BMBF-funded project will support the implementation of the guidelines on research data management recently adopted by the GFZ. These guidelines are based on the FAIR principles, which are intended to ensure better findability (Findable), accessibility (Accessible), interoperability (Interoperable) and reusability (Reusable) of data. The project builds on the expertise and experience of various research groups and scientific programs, including the “Library and Information Services”, which operates a central database and supports GFZ scientists in data publication, as well as established working groups with advanced data management such as GEOFON and the Geophysical Instrument Pool Potsdam (GIPP).
