Function and Responsibilities:

PhD student in Section 3.5 Interface Geochemistry

Research Interests:

My PhD study focuses the nucleation, growth, and transformation phenomena involving crystalline CaCO₃ phases originating from a precursor amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC) phase in both abiotic and biotic systems. This will be achieved by combining both in-situ and ex-situ experiments in a pure-abiotic system, with and without additives, followed by further studies in the presence of a specific marine alga capable of producing intracellular ACC micropearls.
