Curiosity Knows No Boundaries

Meet Nadja Lindner, who was interested in doing science due to her passion for nature, adventure, and a deep desire to understand the world around her.

She grew up with two scientist parents, who influenced her career, but she also found in the mountains, hiking, and skiing her passion an early fascination to understand natural risks like avalanches and landslides.

Her advice, "Shape your career and pursue what you’re passionate about in the way that feels right for you. If you’re interested in something, give it a try! Life becomes more interesting when you take chances, and great opportunities can arise from simply trying."

Unlike many, Nadja didn’t feel that her identity as a woman shaped her path in science, she simply followed her curiosity. But she has noticed the gender imbalance at senior levels and large conferences. She believes that visibility and representation will help change this, inspiring the next generation to see science as a place for everyone.

To all the future scientists out there: Follow your curiosity. Take the leap. See where it takes you.
